Don’t Forget

O’Ceallaigh & The Quill
After you’ve visited here, don’t forget to check there!
Before you go, here’s a bit of something to whet your appetite:
As you know, O.C. plays his horn on the point almost every night. Usually when we walk down the hill, one ferry is already in port for the night. However the [...]

Full Day, No Pics

Quilly | July 26, 2007

I left home without my camera.
Yesterday, all by my lone-self, I drove my car onto the ferry and rode to Anacortes. From there I drove to Seattle, had no small adventure in tears and frustration finding an address on the waterfront, then turned my car over to the shippers. It is on it’s [...]

Pure Luck

Quilly | July 24, 2007

When I arrived at the post office and realized I’d forgotten the package I wanted to post, I wasn’t feeling very lucky.  When I found the grocery store packed and the lines long, I wasn’t feeling very lucky.  When I discovered the guy who parked next to my car pulled so close I dang near [...]

Bleck

Quilly | July 23, 2007

Hot.
Cold.
Shivering.
Sniveling.
The first swallow of my breakfast this morning was one too many.
OC tucked me into bed, kissed me on the forehead and told me to stay there.  I was up before he left the house for work.  I have things to do today.  I will be sick later …. if I can find the time.

Screeeech…..

Quilly | July 21, 2007

This blog has come to a screeching halt. It will resume as soon as I finish reading, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I imagine you are busy reading your own copies and will not miss me anyway.
I purchased the book at 9:06 a.m. today. I am currently in the middle of [...]

The Missing Carrot Mystery

Quilly | July 18, 2007

Last week I bought two carrots.  One for the chicken soup — which I used.  And one for the split pea soup, which I would like to use today, but cannot seem to find.  I know I didn’t use it for any other dish.
I’m thinking that my mate put it in that tasty salad he [...]

Life Without a ‘Net

Quilly | July 17, 2007

Well, 36 hours net free, and I have already read three books.  The first one was too easy — a children’s novel, You’re a Brave Man, Julius Zimmerman, by Claudia Mills.  I like to check out books before I add them to my classroom library.  This one has a good story.  It should.  It is the [...]

Crying …..

Quilly | July 16, 2007

My new computer has died.  The gory details are here.  I am going to try reading books while I wait for resolution — or restitution.  You may not be hearing much from me for a couple of weeks.  I’ll check in as I can.

Fawning Over Friday Harbor

Quilly | July 15, 2007

The first two pictures were taken from the bedroom window.

This picture was taken through the patio door with the fawn about 10 feet away.

This picture was taken after I stepped out of the patio door.  The fawn let me get within 8 feet of her, but she bolted when OC followed me outside.

Contentment

Quilly | July 10, 2007

I wait all day for 9 p.m. It used to be that 9 p.m. saw me tidying up after one day and getting ready for the next. Now 9 p.m. finds me donning shoes and a jacket for a short hike down the hill and out to the point. Once at [...]

The Gold Lawler

Quilly | July 7, 2007

I’m in a big band. Debut performance, for the band and for me. We’re playing for 400 or more ballroom dancers on the shores of Waikiki. Used to do the same thing with the Bath Municipal Band, in Maine, for 16 people. Welcome to Paradise. And the guy sitting next [...]

Together At Last

Quilly | July 6, 2007

Seatac Airport, 9:40 p.m., July 1st:  my cell phone rang.  It was OC telling me that Hawaiian Airlines flight 22 was safely on the ground and he would be allowed to deplane soon.  (I suspect that he had really called to see if I’d arrived at the airport to pick him up. I had.)  Twenty [...]
