Bleck!

December 3, 2007

Head stuffy.

Throat scratchy.

Nose runny.

Cough hacky.

Head hurty.

Work sucky.

And TheBus left me sitting at the stop for 75 minutes before it deigned to arrive — and then it was full of school kids with more wire coming from their ears then their braces! One kid had an iPod in one ear, a Blue Tooth on the other and was playing a hand-held video game. One of these days a couple of the wrong wires are going to cross and that kid will be sitting there toasted like Wile E. Coyote after using an Acme bomb. I hope I’m not in the seat beside him when he goes.

Of course, the way I’m feeling right now, a thorough toasting might just be an improvement.

Eny body hab a Keenex?

You are not a sandwich, so no toasting for you. Get better soon.

*spraying Lysol* … here’s a tissue… here’s a BOX of them. Here’s some hot lemon tea…. I’m going to go make some chicken soup now and I’ll be back.

Steam inhalation works wonders. Rest up and get well soon.

I’m married to one of those “wired” people. He tells me it’s perfectly safe. I’m more concerned about the effect on his hearing than the risk of electrocution.

I thought you lived in the tropics? I hope you feel better soon.

And you probably got the ickies from one of the wonderful kids! I wonder what all the young ones would do without their devices? They would be lost! Feel better soon!

Sick in paradise??? I think there should be a law prohibiting that! As far as the wires go I am a hopeless observer but I do regret the loss of an old fashioned thing known as conversation. How on earth do the parents of this generation connect with their child’s thoughts? Seems everyone is tuned out. Parents are so busy themselves they encourage these circumstances for their own peace…Please don’t send any hate mail for I am speaking of not you but my own wired family. One benefit is we can always locate them just follow the wire trail and plug in to share ;) have some herbal tea with honey. No my friend I meant honey that the bees make….

Sorry to hear, Quilly. If I understood O Ceallaigh correctly, he wanted me to bring you this broth of Irish yearling. I hope it helps.

    do get well!
and despite everything you still manage to post hilarious stuff!

Brig — OC says I am toasting with fever.

Melli — thanks for the tea. Between you and OC I’ll never get out of the bathroom!

Mumma — there is nothing wrong with your hubby’s hearing. He is male, so I know it is his “paying attention” that’s broken.

Brian — did somebody misinform you about the preferred living habitat of microbes? Warm moist places are the perfect breeding grounds.

Jill — actually, I think I got it from our aid, but she probably got it from a kid!

Pauline — I would vote for that law, but I fear what enforcement might look like. Do they kill offenders to keep them from passing the germs?

Doug — I think you may have understood OC too well. I’ll pass on the soup, thanks.

Polona — what can I say, occasionally a bit of drama gets thrown in, and lately I’ve had a healthy share of romance, but mostly my life is all exaggerated tragedy and comedy.

Well Quill, since moving from Conn. to Florida, I only get sick once a year instead of every month. I like heat and humidity. Having said that, it’s in the 40′s in the morning.

Oh lovely Quill, you paint such a beautiful picture,……………NOT. I do feel sorry for you…..and I am wondering if this is your future expectations when working around small children…..you know someone is always with a cold. I remember every year when My kids started school, within the first week they were all sick……

Kleenex doesn’t work for me, I have to use paper towels, I find that viva is the softest, haha

Nea — until I get exposed to all the local island viruses I will succumb to every one. I just need to build up my immune system. Such is a teacher’s lot in life.
