Pay It Forward

December 13, 2008

Paying it Forward is a fabulous give away going on in the blogosphere and I was one of the three lucky winners to win a homemade lace creation from Jientje.
So I must now in return Pay It Forward to my readers.

The Rules, such as they are, are quite simple:

1. Be one of the first three bloggers to leave a comment on this post, where the first word in the comment is “Yes”. By saying “Yes” as the first word, you signify you want to participate in this give away. Being one of the first three to say “Yes” will then entitle you to a handmade item from me. I haven’t settled on just what my craft will be, but I am contemplating things like embroidery thread and/or beads and/or my sewing machine ….  I won’t start crafting until after the holidays.

2. Winners must post this challenge on their blog, meaning that they then must Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift for the first three bloggers who say “Yes” in a comment on THEIR post.

3. The gift that you send to your three friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the spirit and the thought that count!

4. When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, sharing appropriate Linky Love!

5. If you are not one of the top three commentors on today’s post, you’re still a winner in this Time of Grace and Giving. Please take this symbol of the seasonal spirit and post it on your blog; start your own Pay It Forward Chain, and encourage your bloggy friends to do the same!

  • Yes, I think this is a lovely idea, and I’d love to participate. And I think I have just the craft. ;)

  • Melli says:

Oh! You didn’t say what you’re making to give away. I haven’t posted mine yet because I hadn’t decided what to make. I thought that had to be up front…. Silly me! I’m not saying yes… because I already said yes on Jientje’s too! :)

  • Mar says:

Ohhh, lovely, lovely. I cannot possibly participate but I can’t wait to see your creations!

  • amberstar says:

Heck..I just came by to see if the waves are up on the north shore. Riding Giants is on tv right now. :)

  • Dr. John says:

No! I just6 said no to Melli on the same deal. You can go there and see my reason why.

  • quilly says:

Lisa — I am sure you will give perfectly wonderful gifts — but where are you going to post the rules and get participants????

Melli — right now I am leaning toward beading something. If I get to do much at all — so far Lisa is my only taker!

Mar — I shall make something so wonderful, you’ll wish you had played!

Nice try Dr. John, but you have 365 days to complete your gift. If you say yes to one of us now, you have until this time NEXt Christmas to mail your gift off!

Amber — the sea is rolling brown right now. Way to much erosion. We’ve had some major flash floods.

  • Andrew says:

    yes, this is interesting :)

  • I’ve got a little space at the bottom to work with. Or maybe I can do a normal post with an image, and a quick blurb on Twitter. I’ll find someplace.

  • AmberStar says:

Has a third person said yes yet? If not, well, I say yes. ;)

  • Gattina says:

I can’t participate either, but I am curious to see what kind of things you will do !

  • Mar says:

Back to let you know the chocolate guys are waving at you…
    :)

  • Quilly says:

    Andrew — YAY!

    Lisa — Yay!

    Amber — Yay!

Gattina — why can’t you participate? You’re missing out on a lot of fun!

Mar — i’ll be by to wave back. I’m bringing a glass of milk, a fork and a napkin.

  • And OC and I are invited aboard … yes?

  • Alice says:

Bummer… I came by too late. However, I just might follow the Link Highway to one that has not been all claimed yet. It would have been so cool to get something from you, Quilly, tho am sure that everyone will send a great gift.

    Have fun!!
