#5 — Punny Monday — 2009

February 2, 2009

What phrase does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players.

The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.

PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends.

Enjoy! As before, I am expecting a winner before I get out of bed!

  • holly says:

this is clearly that old phrase ‘is that a flashlight on your foot or are you just happy to see me?’

  • gel says:

    lol @ holly’s comment
I forgot and should have looked earlier, but I was blinded by the “light.”

  • Caryl says:

    ‘hairy toes enlighted’ maybe?

  • Caryl says:

what about ‘there’s a light at the end of……’ guess I don’t remember tthat old phrase after all !!

  • Thom says:

LOL Holly too funny. Typical Hawaiian feet. Suntanned in the shape of a slipper. :)

  • alastair says:

la de dum dum, la la la, da dahhhhhhh, de dum dum dum

oops, sorry just slipped into a little torch song there

    aha ha ha ha

    I’ll get me coat……

  • Gattina says:

That’s the ideal picture for lazy people participating in different games ! It would be nice for Macro shots, odd shots, Photo hunters (fury) etc. but what it means I have no idea, hehehe !

  • Melli says:

Oh MY! OC’s gettin’ kinda flashy isn’t he!?

  • Jeff B says:

Froddo. . . is that you?

  • Shelly says:

Here in the Greath Northwest we call that a
    “Teva Tan”….

  • Shelly says:

Wow, I have a lithp…I mean Great Northwest

  • Quilly says:

A gazillion winning answers have flooded my mail! You, however, won’t know the whos and the whats for awhile, because I over slept this morning!

  • Jane says:

I hope I came up with the right answer this time!!!!

  • CrazyCath says:

    Love the suntanned feet.
I do hope those hairy feet are OC’s…..
(or I have just offended a friend!! )

  • gel says:

Oh, no running; I’m not punning. I awarded you the Lemonade Blog Award. See my blog post “Whispers and Screams” for details.

  • Dr. John says:

    Again you hurt my head.

  • Carletta says:

I’m way past everybody and you’ve said you have lots of winning answers. I thought my first impression was way too easy.
    Could be way wrong. :)

  • Melli says:

UGH! I like MY answer better! :P

  • Jeff B says:

    Missed it by that much!

  • Thom says:

WOOT!!!!!!! Over slept this morning. Qujilly it must be something in the air. So did I. I was like what the hell? But that’s what I get for going to sleep early and waking up around 11 and staying awake until 4 am.

  • Quilly says:

Holly — LOL! You never cease to amaze.

GEL — cut loose like a goose?

Caryl — guess you don’t. Oh, and our answering machine is quite happy to take messages, but of late it has taken to not sharing them with us. It is also very insistent that everyday is Sunday and it is 2:10 p.m. from now until eternity — or we get around to replacing it. Just call my cell.

Thom — a couple of months after I first moved here I scrubbed my feet furiously trying to remove the dirt … uhm, tan. Tee hee.

Alastair — don’t quit your day job.

Gattina — okay. Knock yourself out.

Melli — he is a man on the edge.

Jeff — that’s offically my favorite comment on this post. Take a bow!

    Shelly — okay. I’ll bite. Who’s Teva?

    Jane — bzzat! Nope. Sorry.

Cath — my hairy feet are well hidden off camera.

GEL — Around about November I decided I would accept no more Awards. I refuse to pass them on and hurt the feelings of people who didn’t get chosen — or give them to just anybody because I HAVE to pass out ten. If you want to leave me an award I will accept and that will help me feel good about myself and my blog, a thoughtful comment will do admirably.

Dr. John — you want one of my Ibuprophen?

Carletta – could be almost right.

Melli — I agree and I wish that verse had been my inspiration, but it wasn’t, alas.

Jeff — a miss is as good as a mile unless you’re lobbing hand grenades.

Thom — OC went to sleep early then woke and stayed up all night. When he came back to bed this morning I just cuddled up to the warm and went back to snooze-land.

Fun contest, as always and I refrained from subjecting you to too many of my “fetid flashes.”
I understand about the award. I’ve been blogging with some breaks for a few years. Up until now, I’ve only done one meme because I made it into a creative writing post.

I will be returning to my previous “no meme/no tagging” policy, even for awards, because it’s got a built in obligation that takes away from blogging.

I completely agree with you about the reward of comments. Those warm my heart. That’s the connection I live for. Even a “hello” is such a welcome relief from the tons of spam I receive on my computer. Oh, the reason you did not see your comment posted on my blog, is that I use “comment moderation” so your comment is not posted until I approve it. I have to use that feature to control spammers.

  • gel says:

Oh, I always give you a plug on my blog for your fun punny contest, so I hope that brings more over here. (Doing that for writing prompts has brought more into the writers’ circles.)
Now, I’m thinking of penguins and Happy Feet. :)

  • Jamie Dawn says:

Your blog buddies are good guessers.
“Lamp unto my feet” would have been my guess… being the “holy” mind that I share with my alter ego, Rev. JD.

    :-)

  • Barbara H. says:

I saw this while looking for the ABC Challenge. I just love the last “wacky” response given! I will have to come back Monday to see the new one.
