He said, “You know, some of those little fish-shaped snack crackers would be nice.”

She reached over and grabbed the package sitting in the middle of the dining room table — where they’d left it after lunch yesterday. She opened the package and discovered, much to her surprise, that there were very few fish left. She poured half of the remaining crackers in a snack bowl and handed it to him, then stood staring into the sack.

He said, “What’s the matter?”

She answered, “I am just trying to figure out how it is I got one little handful of these crackers yesterday, and I am only having one little handful today, yet they are all gone.”

He looked innocent and shrugged.

“Did they swim away?” She queried.

He answered enthusiastically, “Yeah, something like that. It’s the humidity you know. They could survive in this air.”

She’s so not believing that.
