No News

Quilly | August 31, 2009

No news on the job front.  A friend at church told me it took this particular school 6 weeks to get back to her after her interview. I’m waiting.  Patiently.
Okay.  I’m waiting.

The Visitor

Quilly | August 30, 2009

She came with a bright pink suitcase and an iPod.  She forced me to listen to her music — some of which I actually liked.  She picked up/touched/played with anything that caught her eye.  She questioned everything, gave me instructions on how to drive, and even presumed to tell me how I was thinking and [...]

Debit Consolidation

Quilly | August 29, 2009

Thanks to the current economy, a lot of people are drowning in debt.  Those “easy” loans and their “don’t worry, be happy” salesmanship have left people looking for a way out from under.   Star Reviews can help with debt consolidation.
Star Reviews lists 14 debt consolidation companies. They have in depth reviews for the top [...]

Odds-n-Loose Ends

Quilly | August 29, 2009

I feel good about the job interview.  One of the three panel members that interviewed me liked me very much.  One remained stern-faced and I couldn’t read her.  And the third one, the one who showed me out, also showed me around a bit and gave me a mini-tour.  That mini-tour, instead of an escort [...]

Unemployment Blues

Quilly | August 28, 2009

Okay, if you follow Amoeba’s blog you already know, but here’s the latest from my personal Department of Wealth and Helfare ….
I interviewed for a part-time, substitute teaching job the other day which required I have a minimum of a B.A. and two years teaching experience.  I have a second interview scheduled with them for [...]

WaiverWire, Happily Ever After

Quilly | August 28, 2009

Sobbing, Shannon dialed the phone and waited for her mother to answer. Finally her familiar and comforting voice came on the line. “Hello?”
“Mom!” Shannon wailed. “It’s only been three months and already my marriage is over. Jim barely even speaks to me anymore!”
Incredibly, her mother laughed. “Oh, Shannon, it’s [...]

Doug Kaplan

Quilly | August 28, 2009

I am a little curious about Doug Kaplan.  I have been asked to review his website which is about estate care and planning and is directed at the families of Senior Citizens.  The grammar used on the site makes me wonder if English is the author’s first language.  The unnecessary use of definite articles leads [...]

Bad News

Quilly | August 27, 2009

I am sorry.  Quillian could not be here today due to extreme technical difficulties.   It isn’t anything that couldn’t be fixed with Adobe Photoshop CS4 and a new video camera.  If you like Quillian and would like to see her again, send me a video camera — or click on my sponsors and help me [...]

New Information!

Quilly | August 27, 2009

Remember when I first started doing paid blogging and I told you I wouldn’t present anything I wasn’t willing to use or associate with myself?  Well, that’s still true.   I have actually turned away what could have been high-profit posts because I wasn’t willing to advance the content.
I have endorsed a couple of things I [...]

Quilly | August 25, 2009

This is my day!  I have been published at Associated Content again, and this time it’s a short story.  It’s one of my little memoir pieces and I know you all will love it.  Please go have a read.  If you feel so inclined you might also push the ratings buttons on the top of [...]

This, That & The Other Thing

Quilly | August 25, 2009

Just some random stuff:
I have a job interview in the morning at a local private school. They are seeking a substitute teacher. I want this job. Say a prayer for me.
Including what I earned today, in the last 31 days, I have made $146.17 on the ads and links I have put on [...]

The Birthing House, St. Martin’s Press

Quilly | August 25, 2009

According to his press release, The Birthing House, is Christopher Ransom’s first book, but it doesn’t read like a first book.  I opened it just to check the quality of his prose and about an hour later it dawned on me that it was pretty dang good!  So are his storytelling skills.  That’s probably how [...]

One More Time!

Quilly | August 25, 2009

AC has published yet another of my recipes.  This one is a pumkinilicious bit of finger food just in time for Fall and all the seasonal calls for pumpkin recipes.
Amoeba is just so-so about pumpkin and wasn’t keen on my trying this recipe — until he tasted it.  In fact, I made the dish for [...]
