Where’d It Go?

They were driving down the street and passed a huge homemade sign.  He said, “Dang, we missed that moving sale.”

She said, “Of course we did.  It moved.”

He said, “No.  According to the sign, it’s right down the street here.  I think you are thinking of the estate sale we saw just up the road.”

She stared at him in shock with her mouth open.  He glanced at her a couple of times, then defensively said, “What!?”

She said, “I know what sale you were talking about.  It was a moving sale, and that’s why we missed it.  Better for them if it had stood still.”

He boo-ed.  She just smiled.  It’s nice to come out ahead sometimes.
