Chapel Hill Real Estate

September 8, 2009

I’ve been asked to review the Chapel Hill Real Estate website and I have to tell you I am impressed. This is a full service website and it has everything a person relocating to North Carolina might need to start them out right. Jodi Bakst has created an awesome internet tool for home buyers.

The Chapel Hill Real Estate website has a feature where you can find the approximate value of your current home — whether it is in North Carolina or not. It also has market statistics for the five communities it serves, special information sections with information and reports for buyers and a similar section for sellers. Click the local info tab and you can find out about the communities, the taxes, the schools — even the SAT and ACT scores! — utility companies, medical facilities and more.

But what really impresses me about this site is the presentation of the homes. Each home has it’s own full color web page, with high quality photographs of every room plus the exterior and yards. There is also a detailed write up on the home and some even include historical information. Every write up covers the number of bedrooms; the number of bathrooms; the square footage; the lot size; house style; garage style and size; heat source (gas/heat pump/solar, etc.), the school info; and the current taxes. Now that’s thorough.

You know Amoeba and I are preparing to move. I have been looking at a lot of Realtor websites recently. Not one of them has been as information-packed, professional and easy to use as the Chapel Hill Real Estate website of Jodi Bakst and her team. Pop over and check it out. Click on the houses in her dynamic header and take a walk through a couple. They are stunning!

It would NOT be good for me to go there Quilly. I will end up wanting to move to NC! Of course… I LOVE to look at houses… so I’ll be going there ANYway. But if Dennis and I FIGHT over moving to NC, it’s going to be all YOUR fault… K?

  • Oh I’d love to move to North Carolina! But my husband hates heat and the sea. (Idiot)

Meanwhile, you know how I feel about moving LOL and I wish I wish I wish there was something like this for West Virginia; Realtor.com just isn’t doing it for me LOL. House shopping is fun but doing it in person is tiring; it’s so nice to eliminate some and find a few gems online, then go see.

So how’s your house search coming?

I checked out the website and it is pretty user friendly. That’s something you don’t see in many real estate websites these days.

Angela — I fished your comment out of the spam folder because you are on-topic and your link is relevant. I wish more online advertisers considered the content before posting their links.
