Lovely photo! Their decor’s gorgeous, and I like how you captured the feel of the whole restaurant up close and overall, at the same time with one shot.
Susan — I was trying very hard to get the ambiance. I was rather disappointed at the amount of light in the photo — that mirror supplied more to the camera than it did to my eyes.
Melli — they don’t exactly have “bad” food, but we didn’t classify it good. Hawaiians — owing to sugar cane, pineapple, bananas and coconuts being their primary crops (none of them native, btw) — have a strong inclination for sweet foods and a disinclination for spicy foods, so the Mexican restaurants here aren’t what I’m used to!
hI Quilly. I agree with Susan at Stony River. I would also like to add , look at the moon face on the right then look a bit further right, slightly down and youll see the sun on the wall too. That is pretty cool.
James — I shouldn’t admit this, but I wasn’t thinking “reflection” when I took this photo. I was going for the ambiance and that glowing wall was my focal point; however, as my photo archives will attest, the moon & wall glow alone appeared quite boring, so I changed my angle of focus, added the mirror, and tada!
Barbara — when I took the photo I thought I’d be much less pleased with the angle, but I didn’t have much choice. I don’t think the people in the table next to us would have taken kindly to my rearranging them so I could get a better shot. (Never know though and I didn’t ask.)
Thanks for the visit, Quilly, I’m glad my pictures tug at you. That’s a nice reflection you got there, too bad the food wasn’t as good as it might have been.

I was waiting to see if you were going to post this. I saw it come up in flickr. This is wonderful. I love the colors in this. Well done Q
Thom — thank you. I lifted this from the archives because I haven’t taken any photos this week.
Yep, that’s a reflection allright!
Ciel — that was the point, no?
Aaaaah now THAT’s a very good one! It looks like a very nice place !
Jientje — very attractive, disappointing food.
That’s often the case, I know!
A popular spot by the looks of the reflection!
Violet, yes, we chose the place because it was packed, and if it is packed, it must have good food yes? [shakes head] Not necessarily, we learned.

Cool!

Great reflection shot. Love the way the light bounces off the wall as well.
Kathy — thanks, I was so hoping that would come out in the photo. It was pretty cool.

I LIKE that cantina! I bet they have good food too!

Neat camera angle! Looks like a fun place, I like the chile decorations.

Thanks for the visit, Quilly, I’m glad my pictures tug at you. That’s a nice reflection you got there, too bad the food wasn’t as good as it might have been.
Dimple — sometimes that’s the way life goes.
Very nice reflection and profile pic of your Amoeba. Is that Rosie in the background?
Church Lady — for all I know the anonymous lady could be Rosie. And I took this pic awhile back when Amoeba’s beard was still a fledgling.
I like it. Very nice composition.
John — thank you.
way to go with the reflection Quilly, I really like this one! I like the lighting too nice and soft!
Amanda — the lighting was my primary draw!
