Jim -- they ask me to be honest. I was honest. And the hardest part of writing this review is that I very much like and admire Charles Stanley and have learned much from his teachings.

No Quilly, isn't it hard to say you can't read a book of a company who wants to sell books by good reviews?
A friend gave me a copy of Stanley's 'Living the Extraordinary Life.' I haven't read it but may at least pick and poke in it a little. The friend said I needed the book. I am not sure. I have been living an extraordinary life but am retired from that now. :)

Linda -- smaller books or marketed as a study so one is aware of what what s/he is signing up for. This is very different from other Charles Stanley books. That doesn't make it bad, just mis-marketed.

Melli -- I have always loved Charles Stanley, too. I will always love his radio sermones and I have read a couple of his other books. This book, however, is not for simply reading. It is for very slow ingestion and study.

I don't like books that make me feel like I'm drinking out of a fire hydrant! Sounds like he could have written several smaller books.

I LOVE Charles Stanley! My absolute favorite of his was Living The Extraordinary Life, followed closely by Finding Peace. I still have a couple of his that I have not read yet - and haven't even ordered this one you mention yet... when it comes to books, I'm BOOKED!

Maybe it's one of those books that is better to take and assimilate in small chunks rather than the whole book at a time.

I'd like a book of just thought provoking questions to contemplate.
