Jenn from, You Know … that blog?,
hosts Sensational Haiku Wednesday. This week’s theme is:

Karma
Red roses are sweet
When blossoming in the sun.
A thorn in my thumb.

Ever heard of gloves? LOL Well done.
Thom — don’t be silly, rose bushes don’t wear gloves!
rose caress—
a thorn drawing blood—
vampire kiss
Desert karma
MMT — lovely, but without a seasonal reference, it isn’t Haiku.
good one Quilly!
unfortunately, I always seem to get the thorn as well…
Polly — yin & yang — that’s life.
whenever I get too self absorbed …I always remember the torn in roses…
I love your Haiku!
Shakira — it is a good lesson. And thank you.
I hope your karma is less prick-ly IRL – I can’t see you doing anything to deserve a thorny end.
Well done!
Jenn — I have done my share of not-so-nice things.
at least the thumb heals fast and wasn’t in your side
Nicely done Q!
Larry — indeed. I will leave the pierced side to my Savior. He bears it with love and forgiveness.
So that’s kinda why I leave the roses on the bush!!
(actually I don’t like cut flowers – to me it’s like they’re dead already.
RiA — I was not cutting the flowers. I was just trying to photograph them on the vine. Apparently they are shy.
this is actually GOOD! and a great take on a theme generally too philosophical for haiku
Polona — well, I struggled for a long time to come up with something fitting and stay in Jenn’s syllable requirement. I am glad you approve.
don’t pick flowers, especially roses… that’s the moral lesson here.
