My Jazz Man

September 9, 2010

Amoeba had a gig tonight with the One More Time band.  They played to a very appreciative crowd at the Rumor Mill.  The dance floor got a real workout tonight.

The band sounded great.  The singers, Jill and Hannah, are awesome.  (Sorry, no video this time.)  Charley played a trumpet solo on Watermelon Man that encouraged people to jump to their feet, clap and whistle.  (I might have been one of those people.)

We ate at the Rumor Mill.  This was my second meal there.  This time I had brats and scalloped potatoes, with fresh local veggies.  The brats were perfect, and they came with a side of yummy stone ground mustard.  The greens were steamed to perfection, still crisp and a little lively, just the way I like them.  And the AuGratin potatoes were mouth-watering yummy in the creamiest sauce ever!

Amoeba had meatball sliders.  He didn’t have much to say about them — probably because he was too busy slavering over the potato wedges.

All-in-all, I would say it was a pretty good night.  I got to listen to some great music.  I had a lovely meal.  And I got to visit with our band friends in a lively local.
