Cookie Monster!

Here I am on the East Coast looking for a good cup of coffee.  I have only seen one — ONE — Starbucks.  At home there’s at least one every mile.  Here the coffee shop of choice is a donut shop.  I am not a donut girl.

I mean, donuts are okay, but I prefer cookies with my coffee.  In fact, I prefer cookies of almost all desserts.  Cake is nice; ice cream is yummy (yummier when served with cookies) and I would never turn down a good pudding or a piece of pie; but if I am lead to a dessert table and told I can eat all I want of just one thing, I am most apt to pick cookies.

So, tell me there is a coffee joint here that has really great cookies.  If not, then tell me about an accommodating coffee shop and I will send them some great cookie recipes. I would really love a tall mocha and a peanut butter cookie!

  1. Now see, I LOVE a donut with my coffee. LOL Dunkin Donuts would be my choice over Starbucks. They have muffins, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Not sure about cookies though. There are also Caribou coffee shops all along the East Coast.

  2. The cafe’s in Borders/B&N have cookies that are somewhat decent. Or you can pop over my house. I’ll brew you some coffee and let you have some oatmeal cookies from the cookie jar (homemade!)

  3. I don’t care for coffee, but when my son went to Starbuck’s he brought me some of their scones. They’re good just a little dry.
I never realized that Starbucks was so obsolete. We have one here in our small college town.

  4. You’d love to be at my house this week. Jesse’s school lets seniors fundraise for their sr. trip by selling baked goods at lunch. This year’s seniors have already had their trip, so now they’re letting juniors start for next year. The students who want to do it sign up for bringing baked goods for a whole week at a time (I’d much prefer every other Tuesday or something), so I have been making 2-3 batches of one or two different types of cookies each day this week.

And I love any of those sweets with coffee. :p
