Let’s go to Branson, Missouri for Thanksgiving!
By now all of my readers know that I long to go east every fall. I have always lived where the leaves change overnight — one cold snap and poof, they’re gone. Only once have I experienced the vivid and gradual change that comes with less rapid and extreme changes in temperature, and that was in the gorgeous Ozark Mountains. I have always longed to return, and if I head to Bronson, Missouri right now, I can choose from three fantastic vacation packages! Well, one is a Christmas package and I will miss the fall leaves, but it is still a very tempting offer.
- The Santa Claus vacation sounds like fun. I would definitely choose this if I had small children. The package provides deluxe accommodations at Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel for a family of four (two adults and two children) and breakfast with Santa Claus. Santa will even have gifts for the kids. How fun is that?
- The shopper’s vacation package sounds like a blast, too. It includes hotel accommodations, a $25 gift card to Branson Landing, a second $25 gift card to Tanger Outlets, and a complimentary breakfast buffet for two! Wouldn’t Branson Landing be an incredible place to do all of my holiday shopping?
- I would also love to visit Silver Dollar City, Branson’s famous theme park, and visit the 1880′s. I’m not much into roller coasters but I would love to visit Marvel Cave, stroll through the specialty shops, see a show or three or four (there are over 40 to choose from daily!) and take in as many of the daily pioneer craft demonstrations as time allowed. And, although I’d like to visit the 1880′s, I am partial to hot showers, flush toilets, electricity and wifi, so if I pick this vacation package, I’ll be staying at the exquisitely modern and comfy Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing.
I am really leaning toward the 1880s vacation package. I’d like to book our stay during Thanksgiving so the Level 2 Steakhouse can provide my Thanksgiving Brunch. Or, if Amoeba would prefer to have a more romantic meal for just the two of us, we could opt for the Level 2 Steakhouse “Turkey to Go” deal.
No matter which vacation package we choose, we’re definitely visiting the Level 2 Steakhouse, Branson’s newest fine dining experience. I just finished perusing the breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert menus and there is drool all over my keyboard. It is sure going to be hard to settle for a baloney sandwich for lunch now.

The Christmas vacation package sounds fun…wonder whether they ever let two adults with no kids have breakfast with Santa? LOL!
My husband’s parents have enjoyed Branson. However, I think I will stay right here (being broke with 2 kids in college might have something to do with it!) and enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery.
Pop over tomorrow to enjoy it with me! I think you’ll see some familiar sights.
