Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. Okay… see? THIS is where I might get to win a LITTLE bit… with Sky Watch Friday — cuz you only get BEAUTIFUL skies … every day… Hawaiian Blue… all the time! I get variety! LOL!

I LOOOOOOOVE your wild wave SPLASH! See? Water in MOTION! It’s AWESOME! Great minds think alike Quill!

Yea… OC & Dennis… I think it’s a guy thing! But since it’s probably getting close to the end now, I’ll probably let the men win.

  2. Wonderful!!! love the waves since we don’t have any or they are so tiny, they are not even considered as such…

  3. I want to come and wade in the water with you!!! You are so lucky, such beautiful sea and skies!! Belgium is just dull and grey you know!
Well, OK it’s grey then, let’s leave it at that!

  4. oh my goodness that is a great shot of the water splashing up on the dock! You do such a good job my friend.
Have you ever been snorkling in those waters?
My hubby took me a couple of times when we were stationed in Okinawa. I loved it but it was back when I had to wear glasses so it was a bit un-nerving for me with all the jellyfish. Your calm water picture reminded me of how much fun it would be now with good eyes.

  5. What fun to see your photos. We’re moving back to Hawaii after 33 years in Illinois. I loved seeing your great photos!

  6. Can’t compete with SUCH beautiful pictures ! The sea at our coast in Belgium is always slightly grey even with sunshine !

  7. Melli — we have had lead gray, rainy skies for three days. Don’t worry. I wasn’t inspired to take photos.

DP/Momma — come on back. It’s still here.

Mar — I always seem to miss the really high ones.

Dr. John — I’m glad you”ve enjoyed this. I have, too.

Karen — and do you see the little fish in the water?

Carletta — make it Oahu, give me a call and we can do lunch.

Juliana — me, too. I am a wild wave viewer, not a wild wave rider.

Marlow — why don’t you live in Hawaii? You are probably sensible and don’t need the high prices.

    Patricia — thank you.

    Sandy — thank you.

    Tom — thank you.

Jientje — I’ve seen your photos. Belgium has plenty of it’s own beauty.

Quinttarantino — planes fly in every hour.

    Daniel — thank you.

Jules — no snorkeling yet. OC is a bit over protective of me and since I am pretty new to ocean swimming, he says I can’t go without him. IT seems that when he’s available the waters are rough. On calm days he always seems to be in a meeting somewhere. Just one of the bothers of trying to save the world. (Alternative bio-fuels research — NOT corn).

    Musings — which island?

Andrew — yes, in Hawaii when one says they are experiencing the blues, they don’t necessarily need cheering up.

Gattina — no competition. I have blue, you have HISTORY! Oh, and TRAVEL.

  8. Geeesh, I’m behind in my comments. I love the wild wave. Fantastic picture. I love the fast shutter speed to stop the action. It’s beautiful.

  9. Ida — thank you.

    Dot — thank you.

Robert — I’m behind, too. We stayed in town late yesterday evening to do some house hunting. Then went to the mall and played in the bookstore a bit, and enjoyed our favorite fast food dinners before our leisurely drive up the coast and home. I had a great time.

  10. Whoof!!! Pretty, but count me out fur getting in past my belly. Bark!! Mine finally got up, pant, pant.

  11. Wow! The splash shot is incredible…loove it! I’m doing a little bit of catching up, it sure is fun to see what’s happened while I’ve been out of town and unplugged.
