Ella in Waikiki

Ella came to work with me today.  She charmed all of my coworkers in less than 10 seconds.

For lunch, Ella, the boss, and I went to The International Market Place.  It is only a few blocks from the office, but Ella’s legs are shorter than ours.  She needed to stop and rest.  Here she is resting among the Anthurium.

And here she is at the Market Place.  Most people come to this spot to watch the Koi.

People watching.

Ella thought it was the perfect place to people watch.  I can’t believe how many people went out of their ways to come and talk with her today.  Ella is a regular chatterbox and she made friends left and right.

When we finally reached the food court, the Boss and I ordered Gyros.  Ella said she was in the mood for French Cuisine and returned to the table with this!

Quilly is the pseudonym of Charlene L. Amsden, who lives on The Big Island in Hawaii. When she is not hanging out with Amoeba, she is likely teaching or sewing. Or she could be cooking, taking photographs, or even writing. But if she's not doing any of that, she's probably on Facebook or tinkering with her blog.

  1. LOL! Yea… that elephant has a FRENCH food fetish! She loves them on the boardwalk – with vinegar too! Now I’m starting to get jealous! I want to come watch the koi… and the people! Has she gotten any macadamia nuts yet? She was bustin’ to get there and find some!

  2. One of my favorite places in Waikiki! I know Ella is having a magical time there.
    Hmmm…I haven’t had a Dr. Pepper in awhile….

  3. How lovely to meet Ella and such beautiful spots she enjoys with you! Great to hear things are going well for you and O.C. and of course that fortunate Ella. Big hug…:)

  4. Wow, what big Anthurium plants, it’s truly paradise where you live Quilly, how I would love to be there ! We get nothing but rain here, I’m sure Ella would not like that!

  5. You are certainly spoiling Ella. When she come here there won’;t be fancy7 places like that for her to eat at. But we do have French cuisine.

  6. I’m with Ella, I could sit and watch the Koi all day long. Can we feed ’em? I think I went to the IM a looong time ago, oh my memory is failing me.

  7. Ella is a charmer, that is for sure. You will miss her when she has to go home. Does Ella “Looking at the World through Rose Color Glasses” ?

  8. Those are some really big Koi….and you work in a lovely place. You have to keep an eye on Ella…she has an appetite for stuff that might not be as good for her as it could be.

  9. Oh Ella, I also enjoy that ‘French’ food… and Dr. Pepper ‘must’ be healthy… it’s says Dr. on it, and of course Ketchup is a vegetable portion (tomatoes). After all that walking and people watching you needed such a nutritious and tasty meal. It all looks good to me.
