#1 — Punny Monday — 2009
What noun (thing) does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players.
The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.
Use the EMAIL link. Some of you are sending your guess to my old address and I don’t find them in time for the contest!
PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends.
HINT: One word, three syllables — most of you looked in the pan (or perhaps at the money) and figured out the first one. Now, what’s with the gingerbread population? (6:22 a.m. HST)
HINT: One word, three syllables — Caryl & Melli have each used one syllable of the word. (8:17 a.m. HST)

When I’m up this early/late (all nigtht), then me eyes are bleary and I’m silly. Gingerly, I’m sure it has nothing to do with Gilligan’s Island, nor a root-beer float.
Well, I’m afraid I am stumped again!! I can’t WAIT to see what this is.
I think I’m getting worse at this instead of better!
Gel — you are quite correct. It doesn’t.
Jane — don’t give up! Read the hint. Think some more!
Melli — this one is HARD! Courtesy of OC, if you want to be upset at someone. 😉
Muh brain must be frozen this morning, cuz nothing is coming to me. 😉 I’ll let you know if something bubbles up.
Enjoy your warm weather…we will be back in the 70s come Thursday or so. 🙂
Absolutely no clue.
Amber — sorry that your part of the nation is frozen. Take your brain inside and thaw it out!
Lisa — oh dear. Too hard for you & Melli? Now what?
Hmmm….all of my guesses have already been guessed. Off to do laundry and ponder.
My brain won’t wrap around this. At least this week I’m aware that there’s a guide (noun or verb) which I missed last time. I have fragmentary ideas but nothing is coming together so far. Very frustrating.
Shelly — ponder what the ginger people might represent.
Raven — write a declaration, unite your fragments together, make a proclamation and give us the answer!
Can’t get this one…….thought maybe it would come to me in the light of day since 3am didn’t do it, but no….not getting it!!! Darn….I do like being the one that knows…and I so DON’T !!! xoxoxo C
Very frustrating, I can’t help feeling I’m close, but then probably a million miles away!
I’ll be back! I’m worthless at this!
I sent you my guess. I don’t have a clue if it’s right or not, but it made sense to me.
Poor Gingerbread Island. Their population must have been decimated by scavengers, looking for those elusive dollar bills.
Terrific contest this wk, Quilly! I didn’t have time to see the hints until now, but I don’t think they would have helped my blocked neurons.
Whoa…I would have never figured that one out.
To ALL — Dough Nation. The flag waving people were the nation ….
Caryl — but I love you for playing!
Bazza — light years.
Jientje — but isn’t it fun?
Lisa — it made sense because it was right!
The peoples of Gingerbread (Dough) Nation have been plagued by floods of hot coffee lately.
GEL — as long as you had fun — that’s what counts.
Shelly — it took the political science people to get it.
ACK! I’ve been bizzy all day and didn’t even get to come back and SEE the clues! Sheeesh! GOOD one OC! I don’t think I would have gotten it – but one never knows…
Congrats to Capsun & Lisa~ WOOT!~ Good job!!!
I keep forgetting to come by early on Mondays. I would never have gotten this one. 🙂
Melli — we’re already prepping next week’s pun for it’s photo shoot. Stand by.
Carletta — didn’t you get an email or are you not on my list? (Well you’re on the list now and will get an email reminder next Sunday evening, or likely Monday morning for you.)
HA!! 🙂
Gee, I sure am glad someone finally got it, lol. Now I can stop stewing about it.
Andrew — indeed.
Alice — LOL! Don’t lose sleep over this!
Gahhh, I missed it again!! wait: I read you have a mailing list?? pls add bloggerdot at gmail dot com to it, thankssssss
🙂
PS: I love Carpenters and I love that top of the world song!!
DUH! I knew once I saw the solution I would kick myself! That was a good one!
not in a million years would i have guessed this!
Oh man..OC doesn’t get to play anymore. 😉
Mar — you are added to the mailing list.
Jane — that one seems to have gotten mixed reactions. Next week’s will bring a smile.
Juliana — If I hadn’t made it, I probably never would have gotten it either.
Amber — lol. Sorry. I need his brain. He comes up with these at least as often as I do. Where do you think backseat driver came from? Soul Food? Drawn & Quartered? Senseless? Briefcase? Phony? Toucan? OC every one.
giggle giggle giggle…you are always so good with these. My how the creativity rolls in your house.
