Welcome to Three Word Thursday #11. This week, joining the quondam word-list, we have antediluvian; prolix; & ineluctable. We also have a whole list of perspicacious writers.  If you enjoy reading my story, leave a comment then click on the names of the other players and go see how they used the words. You’ll be entertained (and possibly educated) all at once.

Okay, I am not participating in my own Challenge this week. (Brace yourself for a prolix excuse.)  I know, I know, you all want more Copper, et al.  Sorry.  Between my allergies and the ineluctable constant nose blowing (Even with Puffs Tissues With Lotion my face is sore!), head-aching and ear itching, I had to contend with this blind, antediluvian man whining about not being able to read my blog because everything was the same shade of gray and insisting I do something about that.   So, you get yet another template change.  The last one for awhile, I hope.  I really like this one.

Any way, my time here has been eaten by uploads and downloads and deletes and code changing and etc., so no story.  But I know you all worked hard on your own stories, so I’m putting in the widget and planning next week’s words.

Three Word Thursday #12:

Every Thursday I will give you three new words.  You have until the following Thursday to compose a story using all three of the words.  Then, on that following Thursday, post your story.  After you post, come by here and sign in to Mr. Linky.  If you sign in and don’t post a story.  I will delete your link.

The Week  Twelve words will be: paladin, intransigent, & invidious

Got it?  Good!  In that case:  Your story is due on:  April 30th, 2009

(Oh!  And if anybody else has tripped across the perfect word and wants to send me one, or two, or three, I’ll throw them in the word basket and post them when I pick them!)

  1. Pfffft…you had an entire week….and Week 12’s words are where and what? On a lighter side…i really like this template/theme. Very nice….Let’s out a huge sternutation in honor of our Mistress of the Quill and Scroll for not doing her story this week…

  2. Thom — You antedulvian geezer, I used the words! Your prolix whining is a case of crying before you’re hurt. Still, I suppose your behavior is ineluctable, you are, after all, male.

    Glad you like the template. It’s the one I’ve been wanting all along. Of course you’re still welcome to come over on Saturday — scans your whining — but I have the FTP thingy figured out I think.

Pffft I know you did… I just wanted to hear your prolix excuses that you probably looked up in antedulvian books that only you can decifer because the rest of us are ineluctable from your excuses which show your nescience from age perhaps? . Oh I see the words finally made the blog ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I do see you heeded my words of advice and and we now have a paucity of gravatars in your posts.

  5. I like the new website. It is more you. The other one was a bit too orange and that’s just not you. Also. They layout is great.

  9. LOVE the new look. I’m not a fan of the dark backgrounds and light text — it has me seeing the blog in negative images for a while afterward (negative photographically, not attitudinally. 🙂 )

  10. Love your new new look. Kept meaning to comment on the last one and forgetting… For someone not participating, you seem to have used all the words. Is this a trick? I haven’t written mine yet but am hoping to get something done. Waiting for the man from Delaware Opportunities to come in about 20 minutes and not sure my brain will function until he has come and gone. We’ll see.

  12. LOL!!! Well, I liked the old new, but I like the new new too! Even BETTER I think! The old new wasn’t sO old as to be considered antidulivian, but the new new is brighter! Oh, am I being prolix? Verbose even? Well – it’s ineluctable… *shrug*… look who I’ve been hanging out with!

    Did you know that Neenah Wisconsin only has about 18 hours in a day? Strange place, this!

  13. Aaaaah, you murdered the avatars? They were a nuisance, better get rid of those, so true!!
    Hmmmm, it looks like even I did better!! ha! It is a prolix excuse, and if you’re not feeling well, I guess it’s ineluctable. Hope you’re feeling better and I’m glad the story has found a home on your blog, so we can read the last episode before we get to the next one next week. That’s a very clever addition.
    Looking forward to read more.
    I love the new template even though it’s not THAT much of a change, apart from the new name I guess?

    I could not help noticing that the antediluvian man was also struggling with his!! ROFL!!!

  14. Blah blah blah blah…there is no soap strong enough to wash my mouth out with. Anyway Quilly, I notice the new name of the blog also…A very clever class act 🙂 And my looking up of the words…well that was my attempt at a poem…see why I don’t do poetry…I guess I should have not put it in paragraph form…so there.

    Nessa — or I have a dirty mind.

    Dr. John — Thom and I have a great time arguing. The words were just bonus.

    Betty — don’t tell Thom, but I knew if he was having trouble, others probably were, too!

    Barbara — I was having a heck of a time getting a new template to work. My love helped me last night. He figured out what I was doing wrong using the FTP interface, and now I am a happy blogger!

    Raven — yep — it’s a trick. And nope, I don’t feel better!

    Melli — brighter is definitely me! I didn’t like the dark blue, but I was looking for more sidebar and it was the only one I could get to work.

    Jientje — not THAT much of a change? From dark blue & orange to beige and tan? From one side bar to two to three? (well, two sidebars and a top bar). You must mean the quality and content remain uncompromised — right?

    And the Antediluvian man hasn’t stumbled across that insult, yet!

    Thom — with me you either get a clever class act, or sheer stupidity, and which it is changes from moment-to-moment without advance notice.

  17. And finally I have gotten mine up! I like the new change to you’re blog Quilly. It’s easier on the eyes than the last. I wish Blogger had a nice template like this. I’d love to have a 3 column template and these colors are very nice.

    I forgive you for not writing a story for us, and I point out that you actually did write a story for us, lol. It’s just that the one you wrote is fact while most of what we (your ‘cult’ followers) have written is fiction…. or is it? Hmmmm. And hey, you used the words in your prolix explanation.

    I’ve had a runny nose for the last few days. No cold, no sneezing or itching or any kind of symptoms, just the runny snoz. Not sure what that’s about though wonder if it could be an allergy. I’ve not had allergies before though have heard people can develop them. I’m using lots of cloth hankies and kind of like them. Two of them are much softer than the others, so washed them out today so I can use them mostly.

    Hope you feel better really soon.

    1. Alice — do a web search. There are a lot of free blogger templates floating around the internet. You’ll have to do a manual install, but last I recall, it was pretty easy.

    1. Jientje — the previous one was blue and had only one sidebar and didn’t have all this fancy stuff! (And you know don’t you that I am just giving you a hard time.)
