Punny Monday #38
Welcome to Punny Monday. Every Sunday evening about midnight Hawaii time I post an original photo and ask my readers to figure out what was going on in my brain (or Amoeba’s) when he/I/we made it.
What verb does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players. The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.
PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends. Oh, and just because someone announces they’ve won, doesn’t mean that they have. Please keep guessing until I post the answers!

.-= Mar´s last blog ..A word of thanks and a short break =-.
Mar — LOL! good excuse! Take a pill and chill.
I need them both.
rofl
Susan — well, take them. The bottle is full.
Susan gets the two pills, I’ll take the bottle.
.-= Doug´s last blog ..The Reformation of Wolfshausen =-.
Doug — Amoeba won’t allow you take have more than two pills every four hours — sorry.
Dr. Amoeba?
Doug — yes, but be careful because he has no patients. 😉
I have drawn a complete blank. Brain… not… functioning…. need.. pills….
.-= Thumbelina´s last blog ..POTD and POTW! =-.
Thumbelina — caffeine might serve you better.
I am really stumped by this, but I can´t wait to see the answer. Maybe that way I´ll see how or what you were thinking when taking this photo.
Betty — I was thinking, “This date is really small, they’ll never get it” ….
Blah. This one is too hard after the day I’ve had.
Mumma — this one might have even been too hard after a great day.
You’re right…..this one is ‘above my pay grade’!!!!!! Can’t wait to see what it is!
.-= Jane´s last blog ..I Have NOT Disappeared!!! =-.
Jane — LOL! I love the way you put that.
Not tonight dear… I have a headache!
.-= Melli´s last blog .. =-.
Melli — but, but, but ….
You’d think I could figure this out as much as we’ve used our own bottle of Motrin these past few days!
Are you sure we can’t switch it to a proper noun?!
.-= Mocha with Linda´s last blog ..A New Book & A Giveaway =-.
all I can think of are nouns.. crap wheres the hint!
.-= amanda´s last blog ..Musical Monday =-.
No hint needed, Linda got it! LOL!
Happy Punny Monday!! enJOY your week!!
U 2, Deb.
More confusing than the puzzle is getting to your website. It now takes three or four triers The tries get one a brown screen and a little blue thing going round and round. This morning it took me ten minutes to get here. Then when you want to leave a comment half the time you get the same brown screen.
It is not my computer as it happens on Betty’s computer as well. She has given up trying.
You will note I still visit.
.-= Dr John´s last blog ..Over . It is Over =-.
Yea… it’s all of us Dr. John… One of those things we have to do — all for the LOVE of Quilly!
Join the group Dr. John. It’s horrible. But oh well. We endure. I have no clue about the puzzle
And I thought it was only my old slow computer that was having this problem.
Oh, and I haven’t got a clue either, though I could use a couple of the tablets.
.-= Bill´s last blog ..Happy Thanksgiving =-.
FIXED!
No it’s not. It just took me 3 minutes and that’s hitting the refresh button as well to get your site up
3 minutes is much better than before! Pft.
Nope. All I can see is that this is a very old bottle.
Not in the US Jientje! It doesn’t expire until July 2010!
.-= Melli´s last blog .. =-.
That would be the pill age, no?
Bottle not old!
Well, I’m stumped. Your site came up right away today but like Dr. John lately, it has often taken me a couple of tries. Computers are strange and moody creatures.
.-= Raven´s last blog ..Kitchen Pictures!!!!!! =-.
Raven — I don’t know how to fix this website, but I have tried and tried and tried.
I looked up the meaning of verb…. now if only I could look up the meaning of this photo. Hmmmm. I too could use with some of those pills.
.-= Alice in BC Canada´s last blog ..Happy Thanksgiving Canada =-.
Alice — verb — an action word. Also known as “predicate” to ancient grammarians.
Wake up, woman! It’s almost 8:30 there! 🙂 We need a hint!
.-= Mocha with Linda´s last blog ..A New Book & A Giveaway =-.
I am so dense. I only guessed pillage because of the pill. The date (age) just now registered. I don’t even deserve to win that one!
But if you insist. . . . LOL
.-= Mocha with Linda´s last blog ..A New Book & A Giveaway =-.
Congrats Linda!!! Well done — EVEN if by accident! We take ’em how we can GET ’em around here! (the answers – not the pills!)
.-= Melli´s last blog .. =-.
Melli — I totally agree.
Linda — you do not need a hint. You won.
Yeah, what Dr. John says. 🙂
I stuck it out and sent a guess.
.-= Carletta´s last blog ..Shadow Shots =-.
Carletta — thanks for hanging around! 😉
Pffft Quilly I didn’t guess “Spilled” I guessed ” ‘spills “… “it’s pills” abbreviated.
Which of course is so grammatically bad it deserved to be disqualified, but still…
ROFL
Well done Linda!!
Sorry, Susan — I was trying to get everything typed before I had to leave the house and I goofed. It’s fixed.
complain complain complain pfffft
doh! not in a million years would i guess this…
well done linda, though!
.-= polona´s last blog ..jaws =-.
Polona — had I not thought it up, I probably wouldn’t have gotten it, either!
Congrats, Linda! I didn’t have much time to think about it today, but I doubt I would have gotten that no matter how long I thought about it.
.-= Barbara H.´s last blog ..Sweetly Resting =-.
Barbara — I knew this would be hard. It is a word we all know, but it isn’t a word we use very often.
Congrats Linda…but what the hell is Pillage? Another GREAT Quilly ABSTRACT!!!
Thom —
PILLAGE, v.
1. to strip ruthlessly of money or goods by open violence, as in war; plunder: The barbarians pillaged every conquered city.
2. to take as booty.
–verb (used without object)
3. to rob with open violence; take booty: Soldiers roamed the countryside, pillaging and killing.
I learn so much these days. Great Punny Monday, Quilly!
Rosidah — you’re welcome. It is nice to be appreciated.
Just got home from being away for the weekend…would have never figured that one out 😉 Congrats to Linda!
Thanks for the heads-up about your site being slow to load…I thought it was just me – driving fast/flying low these days and not spending much time blogging, so when a site is slow to come up I usually just hop up and go back to my chores!
Shelly — it should be loading faster. If not, just hit refresh right when it hangs and it will load.
I went to bed early so I didn’t have a chance to play but if I had, my brain was in need of more than aspirin to have guessed this. My guesses would have been
Pilled
Escaped Pills
Pillsbury
Gel — your guesses would have been wrong! But we’d have put you on the board anyway.
Too difficult ! my brain looks like white cheese !
Gattina — smooth and wrinkle free?
I kept thinking Pillow knowing it was a noun and Oh so wrong, I missed the exp. date there Duh!
Very witty Quilly!
Amanda — I had a clue prepared — a close up of the expiration date — but Linda got the right answer long before the sun woke here.
Wow I never had a chance!, still fun tho!
Pillage… pill-age. Oh you are just too clever. And now this seems so simple. Sheeesh!!
Turns out I’m not going to get to Wenatchee this fall after all :o( hopefully in spring. Does your sister have a blog??
oh drat… that was supposed to be a sad face. Sigh.
Alice — my sister doesn’t have internet, so no, she has no blog! She lives in the backwoods of Twisp and is pretty much a hermit.
I am terrible at these! I just stared at the photo and came up with… nothing.
SnakeMaster took a photo on Sunday that would definitely qualify for Punny Monday.
This is fun, I am so sorry to not knowing this “Punny Monday” , will come back here for sure. Something fun in life.
