I agree! I would eat it all, especially with the week I have had! 🙂 Happy 6WS!
Bridgette — yep, THAT’S why it’s too early. Just before dusk on Halloween seems to be the optimal purchasing time, and then I don’t buy anything I like too much!
It will be stale in a week? pffft.
No, Thom, it will be EATEN in a week!
And by the time I get there it will be too late!
Jientje — you will likely have more fun with Melli anyway. Halloween is for children and we have none. You will get to enjoy the adorable Luz!
Ooooh yes, I KNOW!!! Something I’m REALLY looking forward too!
Too much temptation! LOL
Akelamalu — exactly!
It’s not much of a concern in UK. There’s a little trick-or-treating but it’s not the festival it seems to be in US. Anyway, sweets are bad for your teeth and your skin . . . 😉
Jabblog — the fact that they are bad for me doesn’t stop me from eating candies if they are in the house, so I prefer them NOT to be in the house!
i would be tempted,too!
happy 6WS!
Fickleinpink — candy is such a temptress!
You’re right, no hurry — some of it’s left over from last year anyhow and put back on the shelves, probably… LOL
Living on a farm we don’t have that problem, but I always end up making a cake for the kids. Then of course I also end up ‘helping’ them eat it. *sigh* Damn Halloween.
Leftover candy?! Whoever heard of such a thing?! The mind boggles.
Hey Quilly, you’d really better hurrry,
..
If you want it, here it is, come and get it.
Mm, make your mind up fast.
If you want it any time, I can give it,
but you better hurry ’cause it may not last.

I buy some every week! I hope to hit the ‘after Halloween’ sales Sunday so I can add to my stash.
..
That’s okay, Jim. You can have my share of the Halloween candy.
It will be even cheaper by next weekend !!! LOL Happy SWS
Caroline — I hope that doesn’t tempt me to buy twice as much!

Dr. John — standard disclaimer. It came with the template. But, you my friend, can have any of those words you wish. 😉
Quilly’s not ready
for Halloween candy—much
too tempting, she says.
MMT — exactly, and my bathroom scales can’t take the pressure.
I agree because if we buy it now it will just be eaten by the kids in the house….ok, or maybe by the “big kids” in the house! Happy 6WS
Gretta — we have no kids in the house, but the candy disappears just the same!
OH! I forgot SWS! I’ll go do one! This is sO true! I’d have it all eaten LONG before Halloween. But we don’t buy it anyway… no one comes! THIS year we will buy some and pass it out as we go along with Luz!
Melli — we weren’t here last year for dinner, so we don’t know whether we’ll have trick-or-treaters or not. I am wondering about our gate. Will they open it and come in?
Yeah, but you could just buy it and eat it yourself. It’s like a practice run for the real Halloween!
Katie — that’s my fear exactly!
I´m so glad I don´t have to have that temptation as well! Halloween is not celebrated here. But it does hold some “sweet” memories! 🙂
Betty — nice pun. I could gorge on those — no calories!
Yep. Of course it’s only been on the shelves since, what, August?!
We only get anywhere from 0-3 trick-or-treaters at our house anyway. We are at the end of an older neighborhood.
My SWS: Third day straight: enough headaches already!
Linda — sorry to hear about the headaches! I occasionally get migraines. Bad stuff.
We don’t know how many tick-or-treaters we will get. I am thinking our gated yard might cause many to pass us by. We are surrounded by tall hedges and there is almost no view of the street.
Too early, yes, because I would definitely eat it. And then there’s the part where my husband buys three bags and we get about 7 kids to the house.
Thanks for playing 6WS!
Cate — when we first moved to Hawaii we lived in a big condo complex full of kids, so we bought half a store’s worth of candy. No one — no one — came to our door. Later we learned that the home owners association had banned trick-or-treating! We had frozen Snicker’s bars for months!
Nessa — I went grocery shopping today and cruised right on by the Halloween candy without a glance.
Me too, I could be 20 lbs lighter if I gave up candy and darn I won’t I love it…
Thus if noone comes good….

Candy, soda, ice cream, ….
Totally! It would never last until Halloween if we bought it now!
Happy 6WS!!
Toni — if I bought it now some of it might make it to Halloween, but on my butt, not in the bag ….
I already bought my dark chocolate!
You bought dark chocolate? I’m coming trick or treating at your house!
Here in PA, we do not trick or treat on the actual holiday, Halloween. Neighborhoods have designated nights to trick or treat and our’s happens to fall on Tuesday, Oct. 27. So for me, it really isn’t too early to buy Halloween candy. LOL
Church Lady — why? It sounds very odd to me but there must be good reason.
Hi Quilly! I never really understood why. Only thing I can figure is for safety reasons. Halloween in PA lasts a week long!
But you only have to contend with it one night, yes?
Oh, no…it’s never too early to buy Halloween candy…It gives me more time to enjoy it! Happy SWS … Kathy

Yeah, most of it gets eaten ahead of time.
