Punny Monday #43
Welcome to Punny Monday. Every Sunday evening about midnight Hawaii time I post an original photo and ask my readers to figure out what was going on in my brain (or Amoeba’s) when he/I/we made it.
What phrase (idiom) does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players. The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.
PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends. Oh, and just because someone announces they’ve won, doesn’t mean that they have. Please keep guessing until I post the answers!

Oi! Â In my copy-and-paste glory, I forgot to change the direction from “phrase” to “noun” so we will have two sets of winners. Â Those who followed the directions, and those who read my mind! Â You were all wonderful party guests!

I only like pink in flowers, these ones are beautiful, no wonder the Barbie doll feels happy among them.
I will be back after coffee with the girls, I need clues 8)
Mar — after coffee you’ll get answers!
How did you know?? 🙂
I sent you my guess and immediately thought it was wrong because of the “idiom” part.
Life is full of surprises!!
LOL! I meant that by the time your coffee was finished the answers would be posted — but I see how you could take that the other way and think me clairvoyant. 😉
I am drawing a blank right now but will think about it while getting ready for the morning.
Barbara — my fault for not changing the directions. Sorry.
Drawing a complete blank.
Nothing new there then. :0/
Thumbelina — consistency is an admirable trait. 😉
Have mercy, woman! I am totally in the dark.
Linda — turn on a light!
heh heh
I’m e-mailing!
Karen — glad you got a chuckle out of this.
And I was so sure I had it right!! Pfffft!
It *is* a floral skirt, after all!
And no one has guessed mine yet. I’ll probably give up tomorrow morning. *sigh*
Karen — is is a floral skirt, and you are an original designer. 😉
Can this one be that easy?
I guess not so easy my darlin’ since YOU and I both ended up in the Groom’s Family and came up with the same answer WOOT!!! Oh and BTW Ella and I are having a beer for ya tonight after work 🙂
Melli — Yes, it was supposed to be this easy, but some darn idiot forgot to change the part of speech clue from “phrase” or “noun”.
Thom — you were robbed. You should have been on the winner’s list.
Uh oh…it’s easy and I can’t seem to think of a single guess…hmmm…more coffee..then I’ll see if I can find the switch to turn on my brain.
Shelly — if the coffee didn’t activate the switch, you may be in trouble ….
Pffft…Melli says easy…
Yes, Thom — you should have won.
Indeed I should have 🙂
I’m afraid it’s TOO easy. I sent in three guesses but am waiting to find out that it was a glaringly obviouser one that I completely missed.
😛
Three guesses? Pffft…No wonder your in the top spot.
You think it’s your birthday or something that lets you guess that many times?? pffft
Thom, you need some cheese with that wine? Share it with Susan, will you?
Since it IS your birthday, I am going to let you get away with “obviouser”, but I am going to have to call you on whining …. 😉
Atta girl Q…get her…birthday or not…pffft
Yeah but my name isn’t at the top of the list 🙂 Pfffft…thats the true winner 🙂
I really haven’t got a clue, but sent in a couple of guesses.
Now why didn’t I think of that. Thinking I was guessing the wrong Generation.
Bill — that’s because you think you’re 20 years older than you are.
Congrats Nessa….you are as abstract as Quilly 🙂
Thom — there were TWO winning categories. You were in one of them. Pft.
Since when did you have two winning categories hmmm ????
you call this easy? pft!
(it is now)
Why, yes, Polona. I had no trouble with it at all — beyond not knowing the difference between a noun and a phrase, I mean. :p
Gosh, wonder why that didn’t jump to mind right away. The price tag in the background should have given it away.
Doug — yeah, I thought that price tag a nice touch myself.
Congrats to Nessa.
Riff raff, huh? Hmmpf.
I almost guessed Flower Girl but since that’s not an idiom, I didn’t. Oh well!
Linda — my mistake. I am sorry. Sunday afternoons used to be laid back and mellow, which is how Punny MONDAY came to be. Now Amoeba is in the praise band and we have practice & evening service & then social obligations and this post was a bit rushed and I missed a major detail.
You mean you are HUMAN?!
I am so BLOOMING disappointed.
Linda — yeah, boggles my mind, too. I scentamentally remember the daze when I didn’t think it was so. 😉
Good work, Nessa. I don’t think I ever would have come up with that, though I probably should have at least gotten “flower girl.” My brain just wasn’t working this morning. I love some of the creative riff raff answers. 🙂
Barbara – -don’t tell anybody, but I often enjoy the wrong answers the most!
Congrats to Nessa!
GEL — I believe it is Nessa’s first win ever.
HEY!!!!! Who you calling “riff raff”??????
Don’t worry, Jane, most of my friends are in that category. 😉
Wow, another fabulous Punny Monday!! I would have likely been in the Riff Raff group, except that I was late (as too often happens in my life). Have an awesome week.
