Reflecting Black Friday
Amoeba and I prefer not to go anywhere near a maul mall during the Christmas Shopping season. Â Given our druthers, neither of us would have left the house today, but the Honolulu Community Concert band was playing for the kick-off of the official Kahala Mall season.
I figured as long as I had to be there, I might as well scope out a couple of reflections.
Please be sure to BIGGIE for best effect.

Stay tuned for a big announcement from Quilly at Quintessentially Quilly and Thom at Thom’s Place 4 Well Whatever… on Monday, November 30, 2009.

What a clever reflective photo Q. 🙂 Very well done 🙂
Thom — thanks — glad you liked.
Very nice reflections! And you didn´t buy anything? 🙂
Betty — I bought a mocha latte at Starbucks. Amoeba spent some money at the Apple Store.
I LOOOOOOOOVE these! The last one is my favorite… but they are all nice! Mine aren’t nearly so much fun!
Melli — I was lucky is all. I have a couple other cool images in reserve for next time.
Beautiful reflections ! from a simple trumpet, the results are sometimes really amazing.
I did all my Christmas shopping in Egypt, so I can rest in peace (not on the cimetary of course) until Christmas. This year it will be nice, we all meet in the Ardennes which is a beautiful vacation place in Belgium, where the parents of my “DIL” have a vacation house. They all come from Holland and we from Waterloo. That will be nice !
Gattina — I have only three Christmas gifts to purchase and I already know what they will be. I have to design them online — soon!
By the way … I am very anxious to find out what you & Thom are cookin’ up!!!
Melli — Mele Kalikimaki fun!
Beautiful reflections!
LOVE the “maul” play on words! So true!
Linda — 24/7, I always call the shopping conglomerates mauls, but they truly deserve the title during the holiday season!
well, having to be there surely paid off… one doesn’t see reflections like these every day
Polona – -and the music was pretty good, too! 😉
Oooh, very cool!
We’re a bit fond of music at our house. 🙂
Karen — ‘Tis the season here. Amoeba will play in concert after concert after concert to the point that we’ll soon tire of the music and the hassle, but he never tires of performing!
Neat reflections! The first one is my favorite.
Dimple — thanks. The last one is my favorite. If you biggie it (then click “all sizes” you can see the reflection of the mall, the shoppers and the Christmas decorations.
These photos are super Quilly. I’m not picking favorites because I like them all!
John — thank you. I do, too!
Thanks for stopping by baysidelife. These are wonderful images. I love the contrast of the first and last photos–the bend of the brass gives two wonderfully different reflections.
Claire — thanks. The contrasts from the curves and angles is what drew me to shoot these tuba scenes. I have about 4 others I didn’t include in the post. One shows the tuba player reflected in the brass.
Those are cool pix! I give you credit for going anywhere there is shopping…I made sure to stay away from all malls and dept. stores!
Sagemom — I had to go to one maul with my love for his band. I had to go to the other maul with Thom because he’s a big, mean, bully — but he bought me a soda and made me laugh.
quilly, they are excellent reflections – clear and sharp and colorful in brass! I can’t wait to hear what you and Thom are planning! 🙂
Mary — Thanks! And, Thom & I are planning a lot of fun! So stay tuned!
Quilly ~ I really liked the 4 trumpets ~ nice shot.
Aloha,
Karis
Mahalo for stopping by my place earlier.
Weekend Reflection ~ Mussolini’s Rome
Chef Kar — stopping by your place was my pleasure. That’s one great photograph you captured!
Those are wonderful shots!
Barbara — thank you!
I especially like the reflection in your first photograph. What an excellent idea. Shall have to store it away in the old grey matter for future reference.
Julie — when one lives with a brass player, the opportunities are pretty easy to come by.
Those are some cool and shiny reflections!
Well done 🙂
beautiful, I love to see reflections in brass instruments like this
These are fantastic! Wonderful shots of my favorite subject – music!
Those pictures are so full of Christmas and music! The lights are even prettier in the brass.
These are incredible shots, Quilly!! Really creative/artistic. Love them. I too avoid shopping at malls during the Christmas season… and all other seasons as well in fact. I only shop because I have to.
