April 5th — Poetry Playing
Seasoned Game Hen
I’ve gone from spring chicken to roasting hen,
From fancy feather to fuzzy chin,
But I wouldn’t trade all my livin’ in,
For a chance to be young again.

not bad, not bad at all. Let’s just say I couldn’t have done better.
Gigi — I was feeling silly.
.
This is a neat little poem. Did you write it for Amoeba or yourself? I have no idea who it might fit. My Yupie daughter perhaps. 🙂
..
Jim — my fuzzy chin gives me away.
When we grow old it can be such a mess
But that’s what the hen thought as she digressed
Her beauty she thought when she was young
Made Tom Cruise her best Top Gun
Tom Cruise isnn’t even a fit mate for a chicken!
Well maybe if he would quit jumping up and down on couches he might improve his image ya think?
Oh that’s cute! Thom’s is funny as well.
I thought you couldn’t publish them on the blog right away. ??
Linda — I was confused. There was one poetry prompt for a contest. The rest are daily prompts for writing practice and can be openly shared.
Ohhhhhhhh Quilly! I LOVE this! It’s perfect! I even got the fuzzy chin! LOL!
You WOULD have been able to do this 5k – and we WOULD have fun doing it together! But honestly – it was pitiful — I walked 3.2 miles in an hour and 45 minutes — and still I was huffin’ and puffin!!! How BAD is THAT??? I love my bike! 😉
Melli – -my fuzzy chin is what prompted this! My tweezers are my new best friend.
sweet and playful with a deeper message. i like 🙂
Polona — I was feeling silly.
Very nicely done! I wouldn’t want to trade wisdom and experience and maturity for youth, but I wish I could slow down the onward progression a bit.
Barbara – -if only I could have my wisdom and experience along with the strength and vigor of my youth – -not to mention the tight skin and golden-brown hair!
Perfect. And me, too.
Nessa — We can all sit around together moaning about our chin hair.
