A Late Random Dozen
Looking for a meme with thoughtful questions? On Tuesdays click on the link below and pick up the questions. On Wednesdays, post your answers.
1. What is one really fast, know-by-heart “go-to” meal to fix in a pinch?
Hot dogs & chili — boil the hot dogs, nuke your favorite canned chili, serve it on a bun or over hot rice. Sprinkle with onions and cheddar cheese. Yum. I always keep the fixings on hand.
2. What is one item you won’t leave home without. (Purse and license do not count.)
Well, one item I have never left home without is my clothing. I have forgotten many things, but I have always been dressed. (Well, I have left home without my shoes, but never without my short and pants.)
3. Where is one place you never tire of visiting?
My bed — though I often visit it when I’m tired.
4. Share one factoid of your family’s history.
I have my family tree traced back to the 1400s. There is an old covered, wooden bridge in Vermont that bears my family name.
5. Complete this sentence: “Once upon a time I ….”
… rode my bicycle off a cliff.
6. If you could win a one year’s supply of anything, what would it be?
Money.
7. “One quirky thing you may not know about me is ….”
I like chicken gravy on my cottage cheese.
8. You have one dollar in your pocket. What will you buy?
Nothing. I have to take it out of my pocket to spend it, wouldn’t I?
9. “One thing that always makes me laugh is ….”
Reading Thom’s blog.
10. What is one thing you could do today to help yourself reach a personal goal?
Quit blogging and spend more time writing.
11. What is one thing you could do today to bless someone else?
Listen. I made time in my very tight schedule today to listen to my friend vent because she was very upset and not certain she had a right to be. She felt better afterward even though I didn’t give her any advice and kept my opinion to myself.
12. What is one thing you’re looking forward to soon?
A blogging convention right here in my own house! Thom, Susan & brood, and Sylvia will all be here soon!

#12
is it ok if i come to the convention?
Tilden — you have a standing invitation to come and stay whenever you please!
Have we heard the story behind #5? It’s a wonder you survived childhood.
Love #3 and 6!
Not #7 so much, though…
Sometimes just listening is the very best thing.
You’re going to have a houseful!
Barbara — since the motion was advanced and seconded, the cliff story will post tomorrow.
Glad you got in – better late than never!
#1 – I should have thought of hot dogs. Except while I mostly have wieners in the fridge, I don’t always have buns.
#2 – Can’t believe how many people said clothes!
#3 – Great answer! I need to visit mine soon!
#4 – Impressive and neat!
#5 – Ouch. You’ve gotta tell us more than that!
#6 – That’s the best answer I’ve seen
#7 – That’s not quirky. That’s gross. 🙂
Okay. I’m not going to comment on all of them. Just most! LOL Have fun with the blogging bunch!
Linda — #5 — since the motion was advanced and seconded, the cliff story will post tomorrow.
I don’t actually PUT gravy on my cottage cheese… but if there is gravy on my plate, and cottage cheese on my plate, I will sometimes kinda push the cottage cheese toward the gravy and let them mingle. It’s good. I understand!
I have been doing a LOT of listening this evening. I have also been sharing a LOT of
my opiniontruth this evening. There are times to do that… and times not to. It’s good to know the difference. God had me working on His side tonight… much to my son’s dismay.Melli — I hope the seed found fertile ground. I added a prayer to “water” it.
2. I said clothes as well haha.
3. Love it, I never get tired of visiting my bed either.
Love your answers 🙂
PS: I don’t put gravy on cottage cheese, but I do love poutine, so it’s probably similar minus the fries. I think I’d like it. I’d probably use beef gravy though.
Teresa — I like cottage cheese with beef gravy, too — I especially like it with beef stew!
Your family story from 1400 on ?? How awful I started and stopped the family tree with my parents.
Was your XXXXX Great Grandfather the illegal child of King Arthur ??
Gattina — the history was compiled by a cousin, and no, there was no English nobility apparent in our family tree, however, there were a few American politicians and war heroes.
That is some heritage, if you know who your ancestors were that far back! Special!
Nr. 6 – Me too! Hilarious!
Betty — wouldn’t #6 be a dream come true? A bottomless bank account for 365 days! Nice.
