On Eagles Wings
Thom, Susan and I were blessed to encounter a flock of eagles gathering for a feast. We feasted our cameras on them. The following shots are mine (with the exception of the Youtube video).
Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
On Eagle’s Wings
You who dwell in the shadow of His wings,
who abide in His shadow for life,
say to the Lord: ‘My refuge,
my God in whom I trust!’
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
and famine will bring you no fear:
under His wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield.
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
You need not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day;
though thousands fall about you,
near you it shall not come.
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
For to His angels He’s given a command
to guard you in all of your ways’
upon their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
And He will raise you up on eagles’ wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

Amen!
Glad you liked it, Jeff.
Exquisite! And, yes, amen!

What a blessing to live where you do and experience such a thrill! And what great photos!
You know Quilly, when you were getting ready to leave Hawaii I thought you’d NEVER be able to top the photos you took there.
Well…I was wrong. You have a gift for seeing God all around you, wherever you are. Well done.

Melli — buy your ticket about 6 months out and you can get here for less than $400.00, round trip. Thom is considering a return trip in September.
Great photos. It’s Thom with an h by the way. ROFLMAO
Thom — you took the h out to make me look bad didn’t you? Come on, admit it!
Wow. Those are so amazing. That sky couldn’t be any bluer!
Linda — just like the song …
The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle,
And the trees are greenest green in Seattle.
Like a beautiful child growing up free and wild
Full of laughter, full of tears, full of dreams to last the years …
… in Seattle.
So, we’re not in Seattle, but we’re plenty close enough.
You guys were at the right place at the right time – feeding time!
Carletta — exactly!
Great post. Repeat Melli comments. The song was song at John’s memorial last weekend. We did not have the beautiful Eagle pictures you took of course.

Hey Quilly! Just getting caught up on reading your blog! I was a busy weekend!
I am totally serious…..you need to submit these photos to a magazine or something.
Birds and Blooms always has contests, as I’m sure many others do.
They are fantastic. And the scripture to go along with the photos makes for a majestic post!!
I still can’t believe we all stood there together and watched them fly, and circle, and land, and take off again — over and over and I just didn’t get tired of watching.
AMAZING!!
those are all beautiful photos… especially the first one! i am so happy to see my favorite Isaiah verse (40:31) being given justice by your lovely eagle shot. thanks for sharing, quilly 🙂
