Have you ever searched this just the right card to send, but not found one that expresses your heart?  That’s when it
is time to switch isles and start looking at the gift books.  Many years ago during a time of great pain and emotional struggle in my life, I received a gift book I have still today.  It was a source of comfort and healing.  It helped me know others felt the way I was feeling, and that their was a future on the other side of my pain and grief.

A Friend in the Storm, by Cheryl Ricker is a ninety-six page gift-book that combines poetry, quotes and scripture verses which minister to the heart and soul of anyone struggling with difficult times.  This beautiful 6″ x 6″ book has a green fabric cover — the color of hope — and beautiful bronze foil stamping.  The quality matte finished book pages alternate between white and green, illustrated and plan.  The text is a mixture of complimentary styles that delight the eye as the message soothes the soul.

A Friend in the Storm is a series of messages from God, each presented in a two page spread complete with quote, scripture and poem.  Whether addressing sorrow, despair, grief, or fear, each reading points the suffering heart toward Jesus and leads the reader into the outstretched arms of God.

Cheryl Ricker is a prize-winning poet who resides in southeast Minnesota with her husband, Dwight, and two sons, Billy and Justin.

Born and raised in Canada, Cheryl graduated from York University in Toronto with a degree in Creative Writing. Her passion to draw people closer to God led her to Christ For The Nations Institute, Dallas, where she expressed her evangelistic heart by ministering on the streets, on stage, and in prisons.  She has also written columns and articles for various magazines and newspapers.
