A Memory Between Us by Sarah Sundin
My Thoughts:
Fantastic read! This book was so good that after if finished it, I flipped it over and started reading again. I just couldn’t bear to part with Jack and Ruth. The setting is World War II Europe. Jack is a pilot. Ruth is an army nurse. They meet and fall in love, but they both have a lot to learn about what love is — and what love isn’t — before they can make their relationship work.
Both Jack and Ruth have issues with God as well. Ruth wants to know why God abandoned her when she and her family needed him most. Jack, a seminary graduate, is struggling with his own desire to stay in the military and his father’s dream of Jack becoming a preacher.
Beyond that is their relationship with their friends and co-workers, and the drama and tension of the war itself. This book was a page turner. I resented every moment I wasn’t reading it.
About the Book:
Can they overcome the past to find a brighter future together?
Major Jack Novak has never failed to meet a challenge–until he meets army nurse Lieutenant Ruth Doherty. When Jack lands in the army hospital after a plane crash, he makes winning Ruth’s heart a top-priority mission. But he has his work cut out for him. Not only is Ruth focused on her work in order to support her orphaned siblings back home, she also is determined not to give her heart to any man.
As the danger and tension of World War II rise to a fever pitch, Jack and Ruth will need each other more than ever. Can Jack break down her defenses? Or are they destined to go their separate ways? From the English countryside to the perilous skies over France, A Memory Between Us takes you on a journey through love, forgiveness, and sacrifice.
A Memory Between Us is the second book in the WINGS OF GLORY series, which follows the three Novak brothers, B-17 bomber pilots with the US Eighth Air Force stationed in England during World War II.

Hi, Linda! I’m glad you enjoyed it too 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful book.
This sounds excellent!
I reckon I might have to give it a whirl…
I read the first in this series and liked it a lot. I want to read this one, too.
Well I am a big fan of anything world war 2 and because I am married my wife and I may like reading this book together! Thanks for posting such a great indepth review on it!
What sweet comments! Thanks, everyone.
David – I’ve heard from several married couples who read my first book together. Enough romance for the wife, enough explosions for the husband 🙂 And I love the idea of a book drawing a couple closer together!
I looooooove WWII novels — and will definitely look for this one!
