Punny Monday 10.12.27
Welcome to Punny Monday. This is a fun little guessing game meant to spark your imagination and tickle your funny bone. Every Monday I post an original photo and ask my readers to figure out what was going on in my brain (or Amoeba’s) when he/I/we made it. Posting time varies so every time zone occasionally gets a fair shot at being first to see the game.
Here is the image you need to base your guess on:
What phrase does this photo represent? EMAIL your answers and leave a comment designed to either help or confuse your fellow game players. The first contestant to EMAIL me the right answer wins a featured link in my blog which will display until next Monday when we’ll play this little game again. Enjoy.
PLEASE, do not write your guess in the comments. It spoils the game for the other players. Your guesses will be shared when the game ends. Oh, and just because someone announces they’ve won, doesn’t mean that they have. Please keep guessing until I post the answers!

Worth a try – thanks as always for a bit of a brain teaser on a Monday Morning 🙂 Happy Christmas to you and Amoeba, Quilly!
Congrats on winning, Alastair! And Merry Christmas to you!
Sent one idea but still thinking…
Barbara — so close! You’d think a preacher would be more polite and let the lady go first!
*sigh*… I’m out of practice. Sending a thought… maybe two.
Melli — your first thought was correct.
Not realllllllllllly…. I was thinking in elevator terms… down button… LOL!
I think I got it, guess has been emailed to you.
Just realised you wanted a Phrase and I sent a two word guess, hmmm
Isn’t a two word guess a phrase? That’s what I went for too, Bill….. Though maybe not the same two word guess/phrase….
Bill (and Alastair) — I completely understand why you knew your guess wasn’t a phrase. Obviously it is a noun, and I likely would have given a clue that it was two words.
Terribly late, because I couldn’t find this in my reader! But I’m sending in my guess.
Karen – -what reader do you use? Google picked it up. Check to see if you need to reinstall my feed. It happens some times.
I thought this was easy, but then I saw it needs to be a phrase. Hmm.
Linda — if someone is “buttoned down” he or she is prim and proper. If something is “buttoned down” it means it’s completely finished; a done deal; or a fail proof scheme (all the bases have been covered; no loose ends; dotted all the i’s crossed all the t’s; etc.)
I was thinking in terms of the shirt – a button-down shirt.
Linda — yes, there is that, too, but I feared few people knew of them anymore.
I have sent my guess. This the last punny Monday of the year, isn’t it? Thanks as always for a good creative start to the week.
Raven, this is the final 2010 Punny Monday, but I plan to continue in 2011.
Late to the party, would have said “the down button”
Shelly — I would have had to make the down button out of feathers, wouldn’t I?
I was here too early and now it is too late! blame skiing, it was fun too 8) congrats Alastair!!
Mar — sometimes one type of fun has to take precedent over another.
Ah, a minute too late!! Congrats to Alistair. Thanks, Quilly.
And I thought I was late! I see you only just missed out Barbara – more luck than judgement on my part I think! And I add my thanks to Barbara’s too Quilly, thanks so much for a punny Monday boost to the beginning of every week 🙂
Barbara — I am always happy to see you whenever you arrive.
Alastair — one would think a man of the cloth would be more courteous, but it’s obvious you raced Barbara for the win! 😉
And I love doing Punny Monday, so you are both quite welcome! I am glad my little handful of people appreciate the game.
