i don’t know how you do it (i know i repeat myself) but birds appear to trust you to let you come so close.
I move very slowly. I don’t walk straight toward them. I don’t look straight at them (except through the camera). More than that, I have the shutter speed set really fast and the zoom set on 55, plus I just somehow instinctively snap the shutter before they bolt. You could see this guy was ready to go.
