#234 — Time to Blossom

| July 3, 2009

Time to Blossom, 1:23 P.M. HST, 2009 This Rainshower Tree stands on the corner of Kalakaua and Seaside in Waikiki on Oahu.  The clock graces the front of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.  I took the photo from the 5th floor parking level of the Waikiki Business Plaza.

#233 — Lovely Lily

| July 2, 2009

Lovely Lily 2009. Photo taken at the San Juan Winery, San Juan Island, Washington. The gardens surrounding the San Juan Winery make it a double delight to visit there. One can sample the wine, wonder about the grounds, enjoy the exquisite flora and investigate the wedding chapel.  This is one of my favorite photos because […]

#232 — Don't Look Up

| June 28, 2009

Argiope Spider 2009. Photo taken in the lady’s room at Waimanalo Beach, Oahu, Hawaii These big colorful spiders fascinate me. They mean no harm to humans, and some scientist believe that the reason Argiope decorate their webs with huge Xs is to keep birds and people from blundering through them.   They primarily feed on small […]

#231 — Sun, Sand & Sea

| June 27, 2009

Waimanalo Beach 2009 The incredible blues of Oahu are dazzling at Waimanalo Beach.  The beach is over five and a half miles long and is the largest stretch of sandy beach on Oahu.   The mansion known as “Robin’s Nest” in Magnum P.I. is in Waimanalo Beach [town].  The property is privately owned and known locally […]

#230 — Bee on Fuchia

| June 26, 2009

Bee on Fuchia, 2009 This was one of my first attempts at macro photography.  Since I am wholly self taught, I was a bit too macro and the only part of this photo in focus is the bee.  The flower and the remainder of the background came out so grainy, I attempted to save it […]

#229 — Balcony Seating

| June 25, 2009

Balcony Seating, 2009. This photo was taken just East of Haumana Bay at a scenic overlook along Kalanianaole Highway.  There is a waist high retaining wall there which I suppose people are supposed to stay behind, but tourists scamble over it in groves — myself included.  This couple, whom I do not know, had the […]

#228 — On The Edge

| June 24, 2009

On The Edge, 2009 This photo was taken just East of Haumana Bay at a scenic overlook along Kalanianaole Highway.  I do not know the man in the photo, but I knew when the wave broke behind him I would have the opportunity to capture an incredible photo.

#227 — Pigeon

| June 23, 2009

Pigeon, 2009. This photo was taken just East of Haumana Bay at a scenic overlook along Kalanianaole Highway. I went out to the site with the hopes of photographing a few pigeons in flight and getting a couple of spectacular scenery photos. Check out the photos before and after this one and judge for yourself […]

#226 — In Flight

| June 22, 2009

Flight, 2009. This photo was taken just East of Haumana Bay at a scenic overlook along Kalanianaole Highway. I wanted to try out my new 200mm lens and attempt to capture a bird in flight. I went out, sat down on the retaining wall at the scenic overlook and snapped over 300 hundred shots of […]

#225 — Thom

| June 21, 2009

Thom, 2009. This photo was taken in my backyard during a Summer barbecue. This is my neighbor and blogging buddy, Thom. Thom is one of my favorite people here in Hawaii, but if anybody tells him I said that, I’ll deny it.
