i love the textures and lines in this shot!
and the fragile blossom is in stark contrast with the roughness of the surface… perfect!
Polona — this was first thing in the morning and I was hustling to catch the bus, but came to a screeching halt at the site of this lone Frangipani (Plumeria) blossom on the sidewalk. The only composition I did with this photo was to tilt the camera and align the crack in the sidewalk the way I wanted it.
Oh, when I came home from work that afternoon, there was a whole pile of blossoms on the ground. When someone queries, “How do you know it is Winter in Hawaii?” The answer is, “When the leaves are gone from the Frangipani trees.” Well, most of the blossoms have fallen, but the leaves seem to be still hanging in there.
